Doors open at 4 pm, public forum begins at 5:30 pm
MOBILE – The first of two corridor hearings for the I-10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway Widening Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) will be held this Tuesday, September 23, at the Alabama Cruise Terminal from 4-8 pm.
The purpose of the hearing is to get feedback from the public about the DEIS, which was approved by the Federal Highway Administration on July 22 and is available to view online at MobileRiverBridge.com.
At 5:30 pm there will be a brief presentation followed by a public forum. Those that wish to speak at the forum will have a two-minute time limit. There will be a speaker sign up table at the forum entrance.
The forum provides the public an opportunity to voice comments about the DEIS directly to officials from the Alabama Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration.
Comment forms will be available at the hearing and will also be available at the proposed project’s information website, MobileRiverBridge.com, on the afternoon of September 23. Comments from the public forum as well as written comments will be reviewed and addressed in the Final Environmental Impact Statement.
Comment forms must be returned to ALDOT’s Mobile Area Office by 5:00 PM Friday, November 7.
Engineers that have been closely involved with the DEIS will be on-hand in the exhibit area from 4-8 pm to answer questions about the proposed project. There will be maps, renderings, and other visualization displays available for viewing in the exhibit area.
On September 29 the Alabama Department of Transportation will present the same information and host a second public forum at the Five Rivers Delta Resource Center from 4-8 pm.
